In Judaism, joy and sorrow are deeply connected, not opposites. We reject toxic positivity, requiring people to fully feel their grief and joy. Ultimately, rituals, like breaking a glass at a wedding, show that the human soul has the capacity to hold both weeping and dancing in the body and spirit.
We want to hear you take on Simchahs and Shivahs, about what gives you joy or sorrow (or both).
